To Sir Phillip, With Love by Julia Quinn
To Sir Phillip, With Love by Julia Quinn is the 5th book in Bridgerton series. It is the story of Eloise and, obviously, Phillip. I liked this book a lot, their story is interesting and a bit unusual. It started after his wife’s death, when she sent him a letter of condolences. He replied and they exchanged a lot of letters.
Eloise was in a bad place and she eloped to go to see him. Of course, it was a predictable story, as most of them are, but that doesn’t make them less enjoyable. What I liked in this book is that the author did a bit a research and she talks about willow bark for fever, that is true, it works, because the active ingredient in the willow bark is salicin, that makes it an alternative to aspirin.
Another medical condition presented in the book is something his first wife suffered from, post natal depression. It made the book very interesting.

About the author: Julia Quinn’s story is interesting. She started her writing career during while studying at Harvard College. At that time she was deciding what to do next in her career, eating ice cream and reading a novel, she thought she could write a novel too.
After two yeas, as she was deciding between Yale School of Medicine and Columbia College of Physicians & Surgeons, her agent told her that her first two books were the subject of a bidding war between two publishing houses. Julia put the medical school on hold and wrote another book. The following year she wrote one more book. In the end, she went to medical school, just to realize a few months later that it wasn’t for her. She withdrew and never looked back.
