30-Second Wine by Gerard Basset
I like red wine, it is my favourite alcoholic drink, but I can’t say I know a lot about it. So I was very curious to read 30-Second Wine by Gerard Basset*. It is part of a series I’ve read a few books from. This one follows the same format with 50 essential topics explained in half a minute, over two pages, which includes a relevant picture.

30-Second Wine has seven chapters: the vineyard, the winery, classic grapes and wines, history, iconic regions, the business of wine, and enjoyment of wine. As you can see, the topics are so varied making the book very interesting. Each chapter has a profile, a person’s biography being told in only two pages, with the most relevant details.
I liked the book, as it offers an insight on all aspects regarding wine, from how vines are pruned and sometimes grapes cut off, to details regarding Pinot Noir and medieval monks.

It’s nice to have an insight and find out more about your favourite drink. I’ve read a lot of gin books and things about gin which has really interested me as it’s my favourite drink x
I don’t care for wine, but a good friend of mine loves it and I often give her wine-related gifts. Perhaps I should look into this for Christmas.
