The Highland Laird’s Bride by Nicole Locke
The Highland Laird’s Bride by Nicole Locke is the third book in the Lovers and Legends series. This time the protagonist is Bram, Laird of Clan Colquhoun and Lioslath of Clan Fergusson. His sister, Gaira was the heroine in the first novel and her betrothed was Lioslath’s father. It can be read as a stand alone novel, but, for this book, it would be nice to read The Knight’s Broken Promise, just to make things more interesting, as the story is told from a different perspective.
Lioslath has to take care of the people of her clan after her father’s death, including of her three young siblings. The children are so cute in this story, they make a few appearances and they bring an extra layer to the story, but without being too obstructive.
Lioslath sees Bram as the one responsible for the death of her father, but, if you read the first book you see that the situation is much more complicated, without making Lioslath sound too unreasonable.

About the author: Nicole discovered her first romance novel in a closet, where her grandmother, the godmother in the romance black market, was hiding hundreds. Knowing her grandmother wouldn’t approve, Nicole hid in the closet to read them. It was only a matter of time before she was found out and given an offer she couldn’t refuse: enjoy them, but out in the living room please. Oh, and if she could go to the store and get a few more…. A few more? Nicole got two jobs.
She stopped reading romances at university, but she discovered them again when, at work, where another black market book swap occurred. Instead of swapping for another forgettable book, Nicole chose a romance (which she still reads). Now she writes romances too.
