Read the World 02

From the first post, in which I talked about the challenge, published in January last year, I read 6 more authors. This was my target for 2021. This year I have the same target of 6. Here is the list of the new countries and how the map looks like. There were 19 before, so now the map shows 25 countries.

New countries, from 2021:

Italy – Michael Schumacher by Pino Allievi – biography, read in Italian
Japan – Flora Japonica by Masumi Yamanaka – botany
France – Papillon by Henri Charrière – memoir
Zambia – Dead Aid by Dambisa Moyo – non-fiction

  • I shall be interested to see where your travels take you in 2022. You seem to have a great mix of books going on, however if you do need any suggestions for fiction books for some of your target countries, just give a shout-out, as I have read some for countries not on your list so far…. A visit to the TripFiction site would also probably be quite fruitful….. Good Luck! 🙂

    • I might take advantage of the offer in the summer. So far I have some loosely related novels related to my studies and a non-fiction book too. Thank you. xx

  • I agree with Yvonne… it’s fun seeing everything getting filled in. Do you already have ideas for the places you’ve not yet “visited”, or are you just adding them as they fit they need?

    • I have two books, one from Poland from last month – Storytellers, and the other one I started reading it yesterday, from Iran, a fun love story.
Besides that I will read another book by a well known author, Said, who was born in Jerusalem in the Mandate Palestine, that is a non-fiction and I want to read it for university. I have another novel, from Egypt, by a pretty amazing woman. So, in total so far I have 4 out of 6.

(the comment below is not from Yvonne 🙂 )

      • You’re absolutely right! I’m so use to seeing Yvonne here that I just thought it was her at a glance. FIctionFan, Fiction Books, Fantastic Fiction… I have to pay attention! 😂

I’m curious about the novel from Egypt, so I look forward to that.
