Mystique by Amanda Quick

I didn’t intend to read Mystique by Amanda Quick, I had a hardcover that I wanted to read, but the light near the bed at the hotel was not suitable for reading. So I had a look and saw that I had this book on my laptop, I transferred it on my tablet and read it. It was a very good idea, as I loved re-reading it after many years and it might have been a better option after a long and tiring day.

Mystique by Amanda Quick

Mystique tells us the story of Hugh the Relentless, a Knight with a passion for trading in spices, and Alice, a heiress who lost her fortune after her parents died and who was trying to make a future for herself and her younger brother. There are toss and turns in the story, a poisoner, a murder, a couple of unsolved mysteries which are finally revealed. I enjoyed it a lot, hence the 5 stars. It is a lovely book, well worth reading if you like the genre.

  • I know that Amanda Quick is one of your favourite authors. I enjoy re-reading some of my favourite books too. They are like old friends. This book sounds intriguing.

  • I’ve heard of this author of course, but have never read any of her books – I checked her out and she is definitely a very prolific author, isn’t she – I don’t think I could work my way through all that romance she has written, but this book has obviously captured your attention to have read it twice and still deem it worthy of 5 stars – Definitely one for me to bear in mind 🙂

    • I’ve read many of her books a few times, 5-6, they are familiar and lovely and good if I’m tired or stressed and need something light to cheer me up. Do try one of her books, the libraries must have some of her books if you want to see if her style is to your taste.
