The Knight’s Runaway Maiden by Nicole Locke
The Knight’s Runaway Maiden by Nicole Locke* is the 11th book in the Lovers and Legends Series but it can be read as a novel on its own. There are characters that appear in previous books, but there isn’t the need to read all to understand the story. I would recommend reading them though. The Knight’s Runaway Maiden got 4.5 stars from me.
I will not give out spoilers from this book, but my review contains spoilers from the previous book. So, if you want to read that one too, stop reading after the picture.
This book follows closely after the previous one, The Maiden and the Mercenary. Balthus of Warstone was injured in that book and one of his hands was cut off. He is searching for Severine, his brother’s widow, and her two sons. She wants to help Balthus, even though she is scared of him, in the hope that he will help her. Her treatment works and he is feeling much better, without being in constant pain.
The story progresses lovely as they learn to trust each other. The children are present in the book, but not too much though, they are a nice addition to the story. Overall the book is very nice and I’ve enjoy it.

About the author: Nicole discovered her first romance novel in a closet, where her grandmother, the godmother in the romance black market, was hiding hundreds. Knowing her grandmother wouldn’t approve, Nicole hid in the closet to read them. It was only a matter of time before she was found out and given an offer she couldn’t refuse: enjoy them, but out in the living room please. Oh, and if she could go to the store and get a few more…. A few more? Nicole got two jobs.
She stopped reading romances at university, but she discovered them again when, at work, where another black market book swap occurred. Instead of swapping for another forgettable book, Nicole chose a romance (which she still reads). Now she writes romances too.
