Rendezvous by Amanda Quick
Rendezvous by Amanda Quick is the love story between the impulsive and fashion loving Augusta Ballinger and the dull, classics loving Earl of Graystone. It is a lovely story, very interesting because it is unusual. It involves a murder or two, spies during the Napoleonic wars, the memory of her much beloved brother, a step daughter, and living with the memory of an absolutely perfect first wife.
I loved this story, Augusta is such a lovely heroine, fashionable, unconventional, she created a gentlemen’s club version for a dear friend of hers. I liked her a lot. The only thing is that it was mentioned a bit too much that she is part of the Northumberland Ballingers part of the family. He is mysterious and calm, stern, interesting, the perfect kind of hero. Their story seems so nice too, and likeable, and relatable. They are very different in temperament, hobbies, and views on entertainment, but that is not important, other things are much more important in a happy marriage.
I’ve enjoyed this book a lot, hence my 5 stars rating, and my very warm recommendation.
