Attlee’s Labour governments by Robert Pearce
Attlee’s Labour governments by Robert Pearce is a short and concise book on the governments between 1945 and 1951. The post-war period brought some significant changes, which still impact the modern-day lives of Brits. I liked how clear was all presented in the book, but, for me, the bias was a bit too visible, hence I took out a star for this.
I would recommend the book to both students and to people who are interested in this period but who might not want to read 500+ pages long tomes about politics. Despite its bias, the author creates a good overview of the government at that time, so it’s well worth a read.
