The pathologisation of homosexuality in fascist Italy by Gabriella Romano
The pathologisation of homosexuality in fascist Italy by Gabriella Romano – The Case of ‘G’ – is a short book I read for my studies. Because of the writing and the topic I don’t think it will have a large appeal/interest, so I will say a couple of words on it.
The book focuses on a case-study, G., to look into views of homosexuality in Italy, when it was under the fascist regime. He was interned in a mental hospital in 1928. G.’s case is unique because he left a 31 page document about his experience and that is still available to historians. It was an interesting topic, but for me the author proved to be too biased, hence the 3.5 stars.

I can imagine that would be an interesting topic. Too bad she had to ruin it by adding her own opinions.

I think you are right, the topic was interesting and the book could have had a wider appeal if it was written in a different way.
