We The People by Russell Razzaque
We The People by Russell Razzaque and T. J. MacGregor* – A Premonition – is a political thriller, set in today’s US. There are very obvious similarities with what is happening today and I was engaged in the story quickly. There are 3 main characters, a former FBI analyst, Luna Ochoa, a millionaire funding a network tracking the government’s abuses, Leo Montoya, and a Pulitzer-winning journalist silenced for exposing political corruption, Jake Kessler. They are likeable and realistic.

The novel starts with AI showing what can happen in the near future – a global catastrophe – wars, climate change, loss of democracy. These 3 characters are trying to do their best to make sure that this AI rendered future doesn’t happen. I enjoyed the book a lot and the best part of it was its ending. I am not going to say anything very clear about it, to avoid spoilers. I liked how each person has their own reasons to do or not to do something, things we can relate to or not.
I am recommending this book for 2 main reasons, besides the obvious that I really liked it. Firstly because of how good people can make choices that they think are right, without realising the changing priorities. Secondly, the ending was so good. While I was reading I was thinking that I hope the ending will not be a let down and it was perfect.

*I received a review copy. All opinions are my own.

I don’t normally read political thrillers and I’m not sure this appeals to me right now. It’s bad enough to be living in a political thriller in real life.
My digital library doesn’t have this, but I’ll see if it’s on audible at Amazon. One of my brothers might want to read it.

The book was only published last week, so more options might become available. It offers one of the possible scenarios with what is happening now in the US. It’s good read, I’m glad I’ve read it even though I don’t usually read this genre either.
