Christmas on the little Cornish Isles by Phillipa Ashley
Christmas on the little Cornish Isles by Phillipa Ashley – the Driftwood Inn – is a book I picked at random from the library’s Christmas display. It was a light and fun read, but a bit slow at times, hence the 4 stars.
This is the lovely story of Maisie and Patrick. She went back to her family’s Cornish pub after having some serious problems with her last boyfriend. He is an Aussie backpacker who wants a job. The story evolves from there and the characters are nice and likeable.

Christmas is a sort of a part of the story, but not particularly important one. Overall the story is just perfect for this time of year. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a light read. I’ve enjoyed it.

I’m glad you enjoyed some light reading this month. I enjoy books like this occasionally, especially this time of the year.

Thank you. I’m on track to achieve the reading challenge, but for that I needed fast reading fiction. It came at a great moment too, as these books were very relaxing after a very busy and stressful year.
