Always remember by Mary Balogh
Always remember by Mary Balogh is the third book in the Ravenswood series. This is the story of Lady Jennifer Arden and Ben Ellis. She is the sister of the main male character from the previous book and he is the half-brother of the main characters in the previous 2 books. So both of them are known if you read the series. Of course, this, like all, can be read as a stand alone novel. I would highly recommend this one. While I gave all three books 5 stars, this is more like a 5+ stars. I just loved it and I will share why, without going into too many details and spoil the book.

Lady Jennifer Arden is the sister of a duke. She is also unable to walk, a result of a childhood illness. She is doing her best to be happy, but is in pain from time to time. Her disability is addressed in the book using terms from the early 1800s, something that might annoy some, but correct from a historical perspective. I like that the author had the courage to write like that. Despite her disability, Lady Jennifer is outgoing and likes to have fun and explore. Naturally, and historically accurate, her family is very protective.
Ben Ellis is the illegitimate son of an Earl, now brother to the Earl. He was raised alongside his brothers and sisters, after his mother’s death. He and his brother, the Earl, have a very strong connection. He was married and now has a child, his wife dying soon after giving birth. Because of his determination and hard work, he has a good financial position, and he is ready to remarry.
Their love story evolves from friendship and there seems to be a real connection. I just enjoyed so much reading this story. It was the perfect book for this time of year. I do recommend getting it if you find it at your local library.

My digital library has it. Since it’s your favorite of the series and can be read as a stand-alone, I’ve put it on my wishlist there.

I hope you like it. The main story from the previous books is told in a couple of pages at the start, so it is clear what happened without reading those books. The characters are a bit unusual for a regency book and that makes it interesting, in my view, to people who wouldn’t necessarily pick a regency book.
I’m looking forward to see what you think about it.
