England and Europe by Susan Doran

England and Europe by Susan Doran. This book too is from the Seminar Studies in History collection. After reading a highly biased book by Doran about Elizabeth (link to that book is at the end of this post), I wasn’t sure I would be happy with this book. It is a short, 100 pages, book about foreign policy.

England and Europe by Susan Doran

I wish the book was structured by monarch instead of having a Mid-Tudor period between 1540 and 1563, in which 4 monarchs are included, but it is good. She again shows her pro-Elizabeth bias, but with a book this short is not as bothersome as with the previous one. I gave it 5 stars because it is concise and I felt I learned from it. This book is aimed at students, so it is on the dry side. It includes documents at the end of it.
