A Runaway Bride for the Highlander by Elisabeth Hobbes

A Runaway Bride for the Highlander by Elisabeth Hobbes is the third book in the The Lochmore Legacy Series, each by a different author. I think I’m going to get the other three books as well.

Marguerite runs away from an arranged marriage, hoping she will get to a big city, without being seen, from where she can take a ship back to France. She hides in Ewan’s cart. Ewan Lochmore, the Earl of Glenarris, discovers her. As he is not a friend of her fiance and wants to help her, he has very good reasons to doubt he was a suitable husband.

It doesn’t come as a surprise if I say that they fall in love, does it? Well the book is very nice and I’ve enjoyed it. Not as good as others by Elisabeth, but still a 5 star book.

The Lochmore Legacy Series:
– His Convenient Highland Wedding by Janice Preston
– Unlaced by the Highland Duke by Lara Temple
– A Runaway Bride for the Highlander by Elisabeth Hobbes
– Secrets of a Highland Warrior by Nicole Locke

Details about the picture: I used my newly gifted Highland titles tartan. I talked about this on my lifestyle blog, here are more details. Unlike what it is said in the book, the clans didn’t have their own tartan colours in that period, like is today, but the book is a romance novel, so it doesn’t bother me as much, as it made sense in the book to have that.
My rating: 5/5 Stars.

  • Love the tartan you used as a backdrop for the book, it’s very pretty. I also read that the clan tartans were popularised by Walter Scott, who has exaggerated their role. But who cares, a Highlander in a tartan is an eye candy. 🙂
